The SHS CARR Club!!

Seymour High School CARR club is comprised of many different students with a common interest, CARS!
CARR stands for Customs, Academics, Racing and Restorations. Our club is designed to appeal to students interested in some form of the automotive world and tie that into academic success. We have monthly meetings and try to get a cruise in done during the year where we meet at the school and drive to a love drive in and have dinner. Another way we tie the 2 together is by hosting the annual Hotrods and Academics Car Show. The students not only host the show for the public, but also have a separate Academic Show for students enrolled in high schools across the state. The way the Academic Show works is this; in order for the students to participate they will need to bring in their most recent grade card that not only shows grades but also attendance. The participant will have to have a certain GPA and attendance requirement to enter the Academic Show. The Academic Show will then be judged separate from the public show and separate door prizes and awards will be given. Our hopes are to reward these students for their academic achievement and encourage them to be successful. This part has proven very successful the past 14 years, and has grown larger every year.
Also, by having the open show, it gives the members a chance to interact with other car owners and talk with them about the joys of the hobby. We also have members from the community in automotive related fields come in through out the year and discuss careers and possibilities for the future.
